Happy Hoi An

We arrived yesterday to the warmth of some sunshine. This is a lovely place and reminds us of Queenstown. There are lots of boutique type shops selling mainly made to measure clothes and shoes. It’s lovely at night when they turn on all the lanterns.  There is a river running through the town and a nice relaxed feeling about the place. We had a 4 hour bus ride to get here – 150km they do things in their own way and time! We are hoping to do some more exploring by cycle and the girls might get to go to a cooking class .

Well we spent lots of time wondering around and chilling out. The girls did a cooking class and enjoyed eating the fruits of their labour. They even got the recipes! Richard and Georgia decided to get some clothes made – after much pestering by the locals! Richard got a shirt and Georgia a sun dress. They both turned out okay, and for the price they were bargains. Georgia designed and also had some sandals made. All a bit of fun. We hired bikes and went to the beach one afternoon. It was good to leave town and see some of the countryside. The place has stalls everywhere you look. They try to sell you anything and everything! We could easily have spent more time in Hoi An.
